The location was excellent and central, everything was close by. The rooms were very spacious

Cleanliness

The hotel pleasantly surprised me. I was expecting the worst, but actually, the hotel was the best thing that could have happened to us! No resort or destination fee! Great location very close to the action. It's practically at the beginning of Fisherman's Wharf. A good area, with only 2-3 homeless people. The walk to Alcatraz tour took 25 minutes. The streets here are flat, you can park easily at the hotel, there are many bus connections and some grocery stores and food options around (not common in SF). The room was huge! We didn't need the air conditioning. At night, we opened the windows and the street noise didn't bother us at all. The blackout curtains were great, beds very comfortable and we didn't feel tired. Fridge, ironing board, hairdryer, soaps, etc., were available. I highly recommend the coffee shop across the street and the Kopi Pandan. Indonesian espresso with pandan powder is something very unique. It tastes very nutty. The ramen across the street was just OK. The pizzeria next door was very good. We tried the clam chowder at the harbor, but we weren't too excited about it. It was a very simple potato cream soup with a hint of clam flavor. The room smelled neutral, only a little musty in the hallways. The cleaning lady came every day. The staff, in general, was very friendly and helpful.

It was a fairly decent hotel

It's in a pretty convenient location. Quick access to the city transportation. In between the Golden Gate and Fisherman's Wharf so taking a bus both ways were only 15 minutes at most.
