This is a very expensive guesthouse for South Africa. I expect something very special. Very cool house from the outside, and inside the view is stunning. But that's it. Lots of stairs to climb with your suitcases (tiring, especially for the elderly), worn in relation to how it looks in the pictures, our room (which looked magical in the pictures) was right behind where we had breakfast, which meant you couldn't pull up your blinds in the morning and enjoy the view. The breakfast was ordinary. No, if you pay between 2200-2500 zar I expect much more.
Nice room and good breakfast
Very impressed. Great breakfast
Thoroughly enjoyable - this is a lovely boutique hotel in a beautiful area that has stunning views of Table Bay and Table Mountain. The hotel managed to accommodate us for an additional night at very short notice - after strike action in Johannesburg prevented us catching the overnight Shosholosa Train. However, this was costly - R1900, and I think also meant us not being accommodated in a penthouse room, as I had expected.
Great hotel in a good location just outside Cape Town on Blaubergstrand.
Perfect welcome, exceptional breakfast quality and impeccable cleanliness
Room number 8 is absolutely not in the same class as the rest of the hotel. Poor air, extremely poor soundproofing (none) between floors, old and simple bathroom
I enjoyed that the room was separate from the rest with its own balcony. Nice view of the beach
I was really well taken care of by Karin, Geraldine and staff - they made me feel very welcome - beautiful view with a great restaurant close by
