One of the best hotel

We stayed for a couple of days. The location is very close to the airport and the city center. The room is the best on our list.

Very friendly hotel with excellent staff & breakfast

I stayed here from 24th December 2025 to 9th January 2026. I really enjoyed my stay at Hotel Lobelia & my time in Addis Ababa meeting family and friends for all festivities. The hotel is like a home away from home, and all the staff are very friendly, helpful, and customer-focused. It's difficult to single out one person because the whole hotel team is exceptional, but Shetaye at the bar and Rekik who works at reception were great in collaborating with me to entertain my visiting family. The breakfasts and restaurant food are very good, and I especially enjoyed their special tea and St. George beer from the bar. I would return again and recommend it to others as it offers very good value for money and is in a good location.

The steam service should have its own shower and changing room, but understandably space is an issue like most hotels in the city.

Friendly, efficient service. Very helpful staff. Comfy bed and decent bathroom. A little noisy due to poorly fitting windows. But good value and would stay again.

Lobelia and your operator to have a nice trip in Ethiopia

My husband and I spent nearly 15 days in Ethiopia. Every time we came back to Addis, we stayed at Lobelia before taking the next flight around the country. The place is nice, the workers are very kind and help you with everything you need. The restaurant inside prepares the best shiro I ate on the whole trip (in my opinion, of course). But the best thing that happened to us was meeting Abay. He is a tourism operator that works with other people at every place in northern Ethiopia. At first, we were planning to do the trip on our own, but quickly understood that because of the political conditions of the country nowadays, it wasn't a good idea. We were afraid of giving money to an unknown person, but we trusted, and to do so is my best advice for anybody. Abay is kind, he takes care of every detail. He works hard to give you a safe trip and to make you happy. He arranged the best accommodations and the best guides in Gondar, Bahir Dar, Lalibela, Semera, Axum... He waits for you at the airport every time you have to return to Addis and makes a call every day just to check that everything is going well and you don't need something. We had a great time and unforgettable experiences, feeling safe at any time, and that was mainly due to Abay. Thank you, friend.

I don't like

We stayed for a week and were generally disappointed by the suite as the photos did not match reality, especially the bathroom. The shuttle service was almost 2 hours late for our airport pick up even though we were confirmed and on schedule at least a week prior. It only arrived after we'd made several phone calls to the hotel asking about the shuttle driver's whereabouts (they kept lying to us by saying it'll arrive in 5 mins). Once we made it to the hotel frustrated and exhausted, we complained to the lady at reception only to be met with an apology and a sad explanation that they had to prioritize picking up other passengers that were supposed to arrive the previous night - which was an insulting explanation for us. Furthermore, the floor our room was on was extremely noisy due to rowdy and disrespectfully loud guests - I was personally awoken between 2-5 am for several nights in a row. The staff wasn't helpful in managing their guests. The manager was hard to reach as he hadn't shown up at the reception desk or the hotel during our entire stay. We've made several complaints to the reception staff, and they ended up giving us false hope of a potential room change. As part of VIP Access perks, we did not enjoy all the benefits. The facilities are a joke - the spa is just a steam room, no massage, unsanitary, and a tiny gym.
